About

Asuka was born in Los Angeles, raised in Japan, educated in Boston, and currently lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.  She received BFA degree in printmaking from California State University, Long Beach, and MFA degree from School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston/Tufts University.  She held a position as an assistant professor in printmaking at San Francisco Art Institute in San Francisco, CA, from 2014 to 2018, and she currently holds the title of Lecturer at School of the Museum Fine Arts at Tufts University in Boston, MA.

Asuka loves many things, including bunnies, garden gnomes, unicorn, books, bicycles, knee-high striped socks, acrobats, Masterpiece Theater, Pee-Wee Herman, Gumby, Bettie Page, Dolly Parton, and pie-baking.
